Board Member Kay Batchelder, is a graduate of Macalester College and has lived in Rochester since 1963. A community volunteer, she has served on and/or chaired committees and commissions for the City of Rochester, Olmsted County and Rochester Public Schools. She was elected to the Rochester School Board and served from 1987 through 1993, chairing the board in 1990-91. She also served on the board of Riverland Technical College, chairing that board in 1994-95. Batchelder was appointed by Governor Jesse Ventura in 1999 to fill out an unexpired term on the State Board of Education during the last months of the state board’s existence.

In addition to serving various non-profits in Rochester, she volunteers at Rochester Methodist Hospital and has held many leadership roles. She is an active member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church.

She and her husband Chris, a retired Mayo administrator, have one daughter.

Board Member Regina Mustafa is originally from Philadelphia and has a bachelor degree in American Studies from Penn State.  In 2014 Regina formed the interfaith dialogue non-profit organization, Community Interfaith Dialogue on Islam (CIDI), which actively promotes interfaith dialogue and education through the monthly Faith Talk Show, Project CIDI Bridges and other various talks and lectures.  Her non-profit (CIDI) is helping to raise funds for the internally displaced refugees within Syria.    In addition to working within the Rochester Public Schools with the School-Aged Child Care Program and at Charter House, Regina joined the Editorial Advisory Board for the Post Bulletin, serves on the Community Engaged Research Advisory Board for the Mayo Clinic, Executive Committee for the North Star Chapter of the Sierra Club and was also asked to serve on the Advisory Board for the Council on American Islamic Relations, Minnesota Chapter.   She is a certified speaker with the Islamic Resource Group of Minnesota and has been the recipient of the Diversity Award and Bridge-Builder Award.

Regina and her husband have lived in Rochester for nine years and have two children.

Appointment:  April 27, 2017 - April 30, 2018

Board member Lin Gentling is semi-retired and currently in Development at Camp Victory Ministries after serving with the Mayo Clinic in the Department of Finance as a finance analyst.  Prior to that, Lin was on the faculty at Northland College in Ashland, WI and taught with Outward Bound Schools around the world.   She earned a BA degree from St. Olaf College, Northfield, MN in Biology and Psychology and a graduate degree from the University of MN in Kinesiology. 

Lin previously served on the Ethical Practices Board from 2009-2014.  She also serves on the Rochester Salvation Amy Board of Directors, the Rochester Track Club Board, the International Association of Ultrarunning Executive Board and is a member of the Bethel Women's Board at Bethel Lutheran Church. In addition to her service of these Boards, she also volunteers her time at the Good Samaritan Health Clinic and the St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary.

Board member Lawrence T. Collins is a graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School.  Following two years as a Special Assistant Minnesota Attorney General, in 1970 he joined the Rochester law firm of Keith and Healy, and later was a founding member of what is now Dunlap & Seeger, P.A.  In 1982, he was appointed by Governor Al Quie to the Third Judicial District Court, including Olmsted County, where he served until retirement in 2005.   Lawrence was then assigned as a Senior Judge to the Minnesota Court of Appeals, where he served until 2013.   He is an original member of the Rochester Police Policy Oversight Commission.

 Lawrence is married to Dr. Judith M. Collins, a retired professor and career CIA officer.  They have three sons and five grandchildren. 

Kim Keilholtz

Board member Kim Keilholtz, Ed.D. retired to Rochester in 2015 after working for 35 years at Xcel Energy in Minneapolis, MN, most recently in Affirmative Action.  Kim earned a Doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas and attended Hamline Law School.  Her undergraduate degree is in Mathematics plus she has a Master's Degree in Organizational Leadership.   She served on the MN Board of Nursing as a public member for 8 years; three of which as President.   

Kim is currently on the Rochester Public Library Friends and Foundation, the National Alliance on Mental Illness (SE MN Chapter) and Rochester Public School Foundation Boards of Directors.   In addition, Kim has extensive volunteer service with social service agencies, including the Domestic Abuse Project, various United Way Committees, and with GATEWAY Science Fair at Hawthorne School.

Jose Rico

Appointment:  May 17, 2017 - April 30, 2019

Board member Jose Rico moved to Rochester in 2015 and is currently employed at the Mayo Clinic. Certified as a clinical research professional, Jose is trained in the dynamic of ethical conduct, principally: beneficence, justice and respect for persons.    Jose has held various positions in clinical and behavioral research, including positions held at the University of Minnesota, Medtronic, and HealthPartners.  In his recent history, Jose has enjoyed having volunteered in Honduras for International Health Service of Minnesota, and for the Animal Humane Society in St. Paul, MN  

Jose is in his senior year of completing his bachelor's degree.   At Mayo Clinic, he is also an active participant in the Diversity and Inclusion Committee.  

Faye Harris

Board member Faye Harris is currently employed at Mayo Clinic as a cancer biomarker researcher.   She earned a Master's Degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Mayo Clinic Graduate School.     Faye has lived in Rochester since 2007 and has recently worked to increase her community involvement by participating in the Diversity Councils' Community Leaders Creating Change and the Ready to Lead programs.
