The private construction projects listed below hold an approved Right-of-Way Permit(s) and will have a notable impact on public use of the Right-of-Way. This list is not exhaustive and only includes projects with a large-scale impact. Click here for information on obtaining a Right-of-Way Permit.

Project Name: Flats on 4th (Formerly the Buckeye Project)

ROW Permit Applicant: Schoeppner General Contractor (507-286-8672)

  • Street/Alley Obstruction: Valid October 30 to November 6, 2017
    Contractor will be shifting east bound traffic along 4th Street SE into the turning lane to allow enough space for concrete panels to be placed along the work site. The southern most westbound lane of traffic will become a left hand turn and through lane. 3rd Avenue SE traffic will be shifted to the west northbound lane to leave room for concrete work. Project Name: Hilton Hotel Project / Rochester Parking Ramp #6

ROW Permit Applicant: Kraus-Anderson Construction (507-226-8690; 416 South Broadway, Rochester)

Permits:

  • Phase 1: Valid April 1, 2017 through July 23, 2017
  • Phase 2: Valid June 1, 2017 through August 31, 2017
  • Street/Alley Obstruction: Valid April 14 - December 30, 2017
    Contractor will be completely closing E Center Street from South Broadway to 1 Avenue SE for Hilton Hotel staging Area.
  • Street/Alley Obstruction: Valid May 8 - December 31, 2017
    Contractor will be closing the north parking and westbound travel lane and the sidewalk on the north side of the 10 Block of First Street SE. Traffic will be shifted to the south with one lane of traffic remaining open in each direction. As in the previous closures along this section of the roadway, the sidewalks along the north side of the 10 block of 1st Street SE will be closed to pedestrian traffic. This area will be used as a staging and access area for the project. (See May 23 Traffic PSA below)
  • Street/Alley Construction: Valid October 14 to November 26, 2017
    Contractor will be shifting traffic northbound through the median north of 1st Street SE into the southbound traffic lane. East Center Street will be completely closed at Broadway making all traffic from the ramp turn to the west. These closures allow a crane to sit in Broadway. The crane is required for Ballroom trusses to arrive for the Hilton Project. Click here for maps of the bypass.

Permits:

  • Street/Alley Obstruction: Valid September 29 to October 2, 2017
    Contractor will be shifting traffic lanes to the most exterior traffic lane in both directions to allow interior traffic lanes to be closed for median work related to the Hilton Project. The traffic shift will start north of 6th Street SW and will be maintained until East Center Street heading northbound and 1st Street heading southbound.

Project Name: Riverwalk Downtown City Apartments

ROW Permit Applicant: Weis Builders (507-288-2041, 2227 - 7th Street NW, Rochester)

Permits:

  • Street/Alley Obstruction, Boulevard Obstruction: Valid August 21 to December 31, 2017
    Contractor will be completely closing the sidewalk along the north side of E Center Street from 509 Center Street E to 419 Center Street E. The contractor will have this sidewalk closed for the duration of the project (January 2019). Pedestrian traffic will be shifted to the south side of Center Street E.   

     

  • Street/Alley Obstruction, Use of Metered Space: Valid September 18 to December 31, 2017
    Contractor will be completely closing the most northerly westbound lane along the north side of E Center Street from 509 Center Street E to 419 Center Street E, shifting traffic to the south into the parking lane along the bridge.

     

  • Street/Alley Obstruction: Valid October 2 to October 8, 2017

    Contractor will be completely closing the west bound traffic on Center Street East from 509 Center Street East to 419 Center Street East in order to allow for utility work. West bound traffic will be detoured to the north along 11th Avenue NE to 7th Street NE to Silver Lake Drive NE. East bound traffic will be shifted into the parking lane to allow enough space for utility work and replacement of concrete panels. Traffic Layout and Detour Map

  • Street/Alley Obstruction: Valid October 9 to December 31, 2017
    Contractor will be completely shifting the most northerly west bound lane along the north side of Center Street East from 509 Center Street East to 419 Center Street East to the south into the parking lane along the bridge. This will leave one 12' lane in each direction around the work area.

Project Name: Alatus Building

  • Street/Alley Obstruction: Valid August 31 to October 27, 2017
    Contractor will be installing site fencing along the project boundaries. The sidewalk along the south side of 2nd Street SW from 14th Avenue to 15th Avenue will be completely closed. The sidewalks along both 14th Avenue SW and 15th Avenue SW will be completely closed from 2nd Street SW to the south end of the project boundary.

Permits:

  • Street/Alley Obstruction: Valid September 30, 2017
    Contractor will be completely closing the most southernly east bound lane along 2nd Street SW from 14th Avenue SW to 15th Avenue SW. The traffic lane will start to shift at 17th Avenue SW. This closure is to allow for demolition work at the project site. 
  • Street/Alley Obstruction: Valid September 30 to October 15, 2017
    Contractor will be completely closing the parking lane on the west side of 14th Avenue SW from 2nd Street SW to the south along the project limits for the new Alatus Project. The contractor will be doing demo of the two hotels for the Alatus Project. All traffic lanes will be maintained during this closure. Click here for a site map.

Project Name: Discovery Square

  • Street/Alley Obstruction, Boulevard Obstruction: Valid October 16 through December 31, 2017
    Contractor will be completely closing the sidewalk along 4th Street SW from 3rd Avenue SW to 2nd Avenue SW and 2 Avenue SW from 4th Street SW to 5th Street SW. This closing is in conjunction with the construction of the Discovery Square project and will remain in place until the project is complete. Click here for a map.
