Public Notice - 2010 Byrne Recovery Justice Assistance Grant
The Rochester Police Department is requesting public comment and input on the 2010 Edward Byrne Justice Assistance Local Solicitation Grant Program (JAG). The department is eligible for a grant of $41,963. More information on the grant can be found at

The JAG grant is a formula grant to cities and municipalities. The grant funds can be used for a variety of law enforcement programs and activities. Traditionally, the funds in Rochester have been used for community crime prevention programs.

Thinking about hunting in the city limits? Read this first!
If you are thinking about hunting within the city limits of Rochester you may wish to refer to Rochester City Ordinance 85.13 for more information. Requests to hunt with firearms in the city limits should be made in writing and directed to police Chief Roger Peterson c/o Sarah Clayton, Administrative Services Manager. Your request must include your name, mailing address, telephone number, e-mail address, a description of the property, written permission of the land owner, address of the land owner, and a diagram of the property. Questions may be referred to Sarah Clayton.
Online Crime Reporting
The City of Rochester, Minnesota and the County of Olmsted, Minnesota accept selected crime reports on-line. If you are the victim or a witness of a crime that occurred within Rochester/Olmsted, you can submit your initial report online. Based on the information you submit, you may be contacted by an Officer/Deputy or Investigator.
This form should only be used for non-emergency reports.
